Takeover can't hamper plans: HBOS

London (Ask4paydayloan) Sep 22, 2008 : The pre-takeover deals of the former Scottish and Newcastle sites remain unaltered and nothing can deter them being carried out as proposed, says HBOS.

The deals finalised before the abrupt absorption of HBOS by Lloyds involved merging of 16 Edinburgh buildings into an altogether different spot for an amount which has still not been leaked out. Another fact which came into light recently is that a section of this site will seemingly be changed into commercial and residential places. However, the international headquarters are likely to remain in The Mound.

It has been revealed by the HBOS spokesman that the business will be carried out as usual and the intervening event of the corporate takeover will not make things go off the lines.

The commencement of the project is due for a couple of years and will be accomplished around the year 2015. That means it will keep us waiting for the next seven to eight years.

The bank declared that exclusive talks on the purchase of the Fountainbridge site with Scottish & Newcastle had been carried out in March back this year. The deal was finalised in favour of HBOS in spite of the rivalling syndicate of three firms particularly the Royal Bank of Scotland on whose opinion the site is already in its procurement. This consortium, named as the Springside is on the process of building the foundation of the flats in a new, so-called "urban village".

The S&N was the most preferred bidder for the main brewery site. However, it was before HBOS declared its willingness to buy the site.
